We are reopening!
At long last, after almost 7 months, we are re-opening!
We have now moved to a brand-new studio, so we want to give you the heads up as to how we are operating in this strange new world, and in our new space.
First and foremost - IF YOU ARE FEELING UNWELL, HAVE ANY COVID RELATED SYMPTOMS OR HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH ANYBODY WHO HAS TESTED POSITIVE WITHIN THE LAST 3 WEEKS WE ASK THAT YOU REFRAIN FROM ATTENDING CLASS.
WE WILL BE OPERATING A 24-HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY ON ALL IN-PERSON CLASSES. IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL WITHIN 24 HOURS, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ISSUE A REFUND OR TRANSFER FOR YOUR CLASS UNLESS WE CAN FILL THE SPACE.
The first thing you may notice as you book classes is that there has been a price increase across the board.
We have never increased our prices before, after 5 years of serving you all, so a change was a-coming anyway, but it is even more necessary for us to implement this increase now as it would not be viable to reopen our doors with the reduced capacity needed to keep you safe.
We have always aimed to keep our prices affordable, and our price increase is reflective of the experience of our teachers, as well as the value and offering of a safe space that we will be reopening with.
We know we have a fantastic new studio and amazing teachers, and we are incredibly grateful for your support, and amazing community.
On booking classes please also be aware that our capacity is limited to 14 people to comply with social distancing within the building; this means that classes will fill quickly and waiting lists will be active.
PLEASE NOTE – WE WILL NOT BE TAKING PAYMENTS IN THE STUDIO – ALL PAYMENTS ARE MADE AT TIME OF BOOKING THROUGH THE WEBSITE.
Included in the rest of this document is a step by step guide to using the space as you return to classes in person. We have also listed an FAQ page with common questions you may have.
Please take the time to read this information thoroughly.
Step-by-step Guide to Attending Class
Here are the key changes we would like you to adopt:
Please do not arrive any earlier than 10 minutes before class (also don’t be in a rush to enter or exit).
Maintain social distancing on arrival at all times.
You must bring your own mat, props and water bottle and come dressed for class where possible. We do have plenty of toilets, however, if you do need to get changed. There will be NO PROPS available at the studio. (We are offering a ‘prop’ kit for £30.00 comprised of a YB blanket, blue block, purple brick, bolster, eye pillow, and strap, and this can be purchased from TYB. These have been cleaned, but you can also clean them once you take them home for peace of mind. The eye pillow and bolster covers are removable and washable).
Please don’t bring any unnecessary items/bags.
We do advise that you wear a mask whilst you are in the building at all times and remove it only when you get to your mat.
Hand sanitiser is at the bottom of the stairs by the shoe rack, and also at the entrance to the studio space itself.
The studio is marked for mats and we ask that you stay on your mat once you’re in the studio space itself. Due to the shape of the studio, when you come in FIRST, please go straight to the front of the room, so as to make as little contact with people as possible. When leaving, it will be from the back of the room forward, giving people plenty of time to get their shoes and coats to avoid any queuing on the stairs.
On arriving and leaving be mindful of social distancing. If you are talking to a fellow yogi before and after class please do so in the waiting area downstairs, or outside, NOT on our stairs or in the main studio, maintaining social distancing at all times.
We will have 30 minutes between classes so that students leaving do not have to rush, and we can give the studio a spray of hard surfaces with Dettol, and still have time to see to the next class safely.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Will the numbers in class be reduced?
A. Yes, we have reduced the capacity to 14 students in order to comply with social distancing
Q. Do we have to wear a mask?
A. We do recommend that you wear your mask indoors, as per COVID Guidelines (unless you have an underlying medical condition that exempts you from wearing one), but can take your mask off once you are on your mat and ready to practice. You can, of course, keep your mask on whilst practising if you wish, although it may make breathing a little more challenging, so do take care.
Q. Do we have to book to attend?
A. Yes, due to the reduced capacity booking is essential. We will not be accepting any drop ins for the foreseeable future.
Q. Will online classes be available?
A. Yes, most classes will be available to join ‘live’ with Zoom.
